Welcome to the blog of the Twitluddite! My name is Hilton Hamann and, like so many other people all around the world, I too felt the effects of the global economic crisis.
Major clients cancelled contracts and I suddenly found myself with no work and a slew of bills to pay.
For most of my life I have been involved in some or other form of writing, either as a journalist, corporate writer or writer of books.
I always had some interaction with technology but it was at a superficial level. I knew the Internet offered great opportunities but I had little idea of how to tap into them. But, as they say, ‘necessity is the mother of invention’ and I had no option but to quickly learn how to make best use of social media platforms to promote and market my business ventures.
Am I a world expert? Heck no. Like many I grind away writing blogs each day and have concerns about there being enough income at the end of the month. But I can see the future. My online efforts will are starting to pay off.
I have learned a lot, made many mistakes and hope to convey that knowledge, in such a way that fellow

Luddites, who have no idea why they should be using Twitter, Facebook, You Tube or why they should have a business blog, will see the wonderful opportunities these platforms present.
My writings are MY thoughts based on MY experiences as a middle-aged man who always believed social media was something kids and bored housewives did.
